Now Tom Hardy may not be the first person that comes to mind when you think of a fit celebrity, but the dude is shredded. Doubt me? Check him out in the movie “Warrior”. One of Hardy’s most notable roles is Bane for “The Dark Knight Rises” and here’s how he put on a lot of his weight on his 5’9″ frame. Most seem to think he simply added a lot of calories and did a heavy-lifting weight training workout in a 5×5 regimen. Example:

– A simple and easy routine to get this type of look is to do a 5×5 routine. That’s 5 sets of 5 repetitions with about 2-4 minutes in between each set.

– You work out 3 times a week, and every other day you switch up squats with deadlifts. It would look like this:

– Monday- Squats 5×5, Bench press 5×5, Overhead press 5×5
Tuesday- Off
Wednesday- Deadlifts 5×5, Bench press 5×5, Overhead Press 5×5

– And simply alternate and continue on. You add 10 lbs each time to the lifts except for overhead press which you add 5.

It should be noted too that, even though Hardy can pack on cool-looking muscle, a lot of Bane’s “bulk” came from the costume department. Still, he had to work hard to look right for the part. Hardy is a great actor and should be highly respected for his dedication to physical roles. (I may have a bit of a man-crush on the guy) If you stick with this workout, you have a bulked up body like Bane in no time.
