We are all unique because of our DNA. DNA, also referred to as genetics defines who you are. It is a marker that traces your origin to a given descent. Therefore, genetics plays a significant role in our lives.
Genetics, to say the least, is the holy grail of bodybuilding. Fitness enthusiasts believe they can conquer the world with good genes. How true that statement is, remains to be a mystery.
Have you ever wondered why some people hit the gym and multiply while others see no progress? Well, bad things happen even to good people. However, you should not blame it all to genetics.
Sometimes, hard work is all you need to get those abs showing. Anyway, we cannot dispute that genetics plays a role in bodybuilding, well without going through this peace. Therefore, you need to pay attention to what I say for that will make you a believer or a non-believer.
Let us face it. Bodybuilding yields different results especially when a group of fitness connoisseurs is getting investigated. For some individuals, the results are downright impressive while other people wish the world would open up and swallow them alive.
Why, you ask? It is because their efforts hardly bear any fruit. Stereotyping, although not good, allows us to group bodybuilders into three genetic categories. They are ectomorphs, mesomorphs, and endomorphs.
Who is an ectomorph?
An ectomorph is that skinny guy you always joke about. He is so thin that he gets characterized all thanks to his flat chest, narrow shoulders, super quick metabolism, low body fat content, lean muscle, and a delicate bone structure. People who find it hard to add mass are also referred to as ectomorphs.
Is being an ectomorph a good or bad thing? It is a good thing especially if you are not bodybuilding. Recall, bodybuilders with a thin physique have to endure through the whole process and I will tell you why.
Their lightning fast metabolism consumes every calorie meant to build body mass. Thus, ectomorphs must work extra hard for them to develop that perfect physique. Ectomorphs, to say the least, work harder than anyone else.
Regrettably, they have little or nothing to show for their efforts at the end of the day. Looking on the brighter side, there is more than enough scientific evidence to show that ectomorphs suffer a deficiency in the satellite cells that surround muscle fibers. Thus, they are victims of circumstances.
Regardless, there is still hope even in a hopeless situation as this. Ectomorphs find cutting quite easy, right after building some mass.
Mesomorphs-who are they?
Mesomorphs are naturals. They are those good looking dudes who need a little cutting to steal the show. Mesomorphs, to set the record straight, have a define muscular physique, have an athletic build, are naturally strong, possess a ‘v’ taper, they gain fat fast, and they enjoy a steady metabolic rate.
To be blunt; mesomorphs originate from a classic gene pool where the physical characteristics lie between the good and the ugly. Research shows that these individuals gain muscle mass easily. The effects of bodybuilding take the charge almost immediately.
Endomorphs are the Arnold Schwarzeneggers’ of old. They not only boast about their broad shoulders but also their barrel chests. To put your mind in the right perspective, a soldier might mistake an endomorph for a military tank.
Traits that sell endomorphs out include a round build and a typically short stature. Endomorphs also have thick wrists that are complemented by broad shoulders. Above all, they enjoy slow metabolism meaning that they are easy gainers.
In short, endomorphs build mass faster than lightning. Unfortunately, endomorphs find fitness training challenging given they must work harder for them to develop abs.
Intelligence and Bodybuilding
An intelligent bodybuilder always ends up successful. Remember, he uses his brain to influence when, where, and how he works out. Therefore, your mind is a secret weapon that you should always have in your arsenal.
It is a tool that can help you to conquer the world even without coming from the greatest gene pool known to humanity. Lastly, your mind gives you the endurance you need to go through a fitness training session.
Hormones and Bodybuilding
Hormones help curve teenage boys into muscular men. However, that does not mean that you do not need hormones too because you do. Good hormones, for your information, help bodybuilders develop that perfect physique.
Life is not fair. As a matter of fact, you hardly get what you want or need. However, that does not mean you should stop working hard. Remember, even a hardworking ectomorph can become the meanest titan in a WWE wrestling series.
